What to expect in the coming months and call to action.
The Peter's( ) World Cup contest is attracting more and more new members that haven't been here from the start. They are not familiar with the way we operate and for that reason, we are planning on doing certain things that will help us with the onboarding process:
The Knowledge Base
came up with the idea for us to create the central knowledge base in order to keep there the evergreen content, but also to promote it as the first point of contact for the potential new members.
The way the things work now, we are giving each new member a tutorial on what we do, the way we do it, and how to contribute to the community. Having an official tutorial will help us with that.
There are some details yet to be polished, but the tutorial and the knowledge base would (most likely) live as a separate website.
The SBC League
Right now, the SBC League tracks the performance of our members in the SBC Contest. Starting June 01, this is gonna to change.
Instead of leaving a comment with your picks, you will do your regular posting using the official sbc template (to be published) for posting bets and tracking the results.
I will keep track of your betting posts and depending on the profits you make with your bets you will get rewarded. I'll be distributing the weekly and monthly rewards.
The reasons for this change are:
In the current format of the contest, I'm selecting some football (soccer) matches and you're picking the most likely outcomes. You get rewarded by the profitability of your picks. This approach works to a degree when it comes to the members specializing in the football betting, but it is unfair to the members that are focusing on the other sports.
Keeping a central track record of the members' performance will allow us to have a clear view of who is in form and whose tips we should follow at the moment. The SBC League will become a useful tool for the sports bettors looking for some quality tips.
Having the SBC League organized in that way will allow us to attract more sports bettors and tipsters to join the steemit.
Call To Action!
If you have some initiative you'd like us to support as a community, write a proposal and submit it to the Discord group. We'll take it into consideration, talk about it a bit, and if we found it interesting to the community members, you'll get our support.
Don't be shy and don't pussyfoot around it!
Just say what you have to say, as directly as possible. We are running this project as volunteers and the time is the resource we lack the most.
And now something important for the new members:
Engage with the community! Go check out the members followed by the , if you like what you see, comment the post, start conversation.
