Proverbs 13:13-25
AMP:He who walks [as a companion] with wise men is wise, but he who associates with [self-confident] fools is [a fool himself and] shall smart for it. (prov. 13:20)
A man or woman's peers exert much pressure on him or her. It may be on the positive side. It can equally be on the negative side.
An eagle raised alongside ordinary chickens may dream to fly like the normal eagle but may be hampered by its upbringing.
A majority of your peers are likely the people who are prodigal (wasteful) with time, talents and even treasures then there is no way you will be different from them.
If you must realize your dream, you must stay away from those who have no dreams.
Ruth and Orpah are two Moabites, they share a common experience, but Ruth seems to have a dream. You can see it in every of her moves. Orpah was not a dreamer and looked like somebody who did not know what she wanted.
The people you keep determines your tomorrow.
Who are your companions? Are they fools? Then make no mistake about it, you can act and behave foolishly.
PRAYER
Deliver me O God from dreamless peers.
