Ecclesiastes 8:4
KJV:Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?
The word "Kingdom" is a compound word made up of "King" and "domain" which means a King's Domain.
When we talk about the kingdom of God, we simply means God's government, God's rule, God's conduct, God's control and authority.
The term "kingdom of God" is not primarily about heaven, but God's dominion over all the works of His hands, that is King ruling in our heart and over our affairs.
A kingdom is radically different from democracy. Abraham Lincoln defined democracy as the government of the people, by the people and for the people. Therefore we can deduce that the kingdom of God is the government of the king, by the king and for the king.
When we understand that we are dealing with the king, then we will realise that there is nothing more important than to safeguard the interest of the king.
Qualifications In The Kingdom
Daniel 1:3-4
KJV:And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;
KJV:Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
Above passage read about the qualifications for selecting, choosing and enrollment of the King's steward.
This is in a way related to God's kingdom.
To be a part of God's kingdom, those attributes must be found in you. The requirements needed in our service to the king of kings is reveal in;
Acts 6:3 KJV:Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business
In the kingdom, the will of the king supersedes that of his subjects Matthew 26:39b, Matthew 6:10
The subject has no will of his own, he follows the will of the king and try as much as possible to safeguard His interest.
The will and interest of the king comes first and that is all that matters. His subjects work according to his will and abides by it. They protect the King's interest and don't do otherwise
Conclusion
We have graciously been bought into the kingdom where the king of kings and the owner of all reigns eternally. The Bible makes it clear that the earth and the fullness thereof belong to the Lord.
We have our sustenance from him hence we are to serve him with all our hearts and our while being.
Therefore in our duty post, secular or religious, our mandate is to ensure that the king will not suffer loss.
God help us as we live by this consciousness, Amen!
