Is there a Christian who has not been hurt by another Christian, who was perhaps a true Christian? How can a man kneel one day and pray fervently, but the next day hurt another Christian? Because we are halfway between heaven and hell. You and I must be rescued from this place. The Lord of beauty saves his people from the ugliness of sin.
Our Lord Jesus Christ came into the world to save us from horror of hell and take us to a heaven of beauty.
The Old Testament offers us the story of a man named Isaac. His father Abraham asked his servant to go in search of an acceptable wife for his son (see Gen. 24). With the help of the Holy Spirit, that old servant went to the people that Abraham had pointed out to him and there he found a young woman. The Bible tells us that she was very beautiful. Her name was Rebecca, and surely it was beautiful, because the servant was told that I found a woman who was physically attractive. Isaac is a type of our Lord Jesus Christ. Father God He sent the Holy Spirit among the peoples of the world to obtain a Bride for Christ, one worthy of Him. The importance of the Bride lies in the Husband. She lacks self-worth, because it depends on her relationship with the Husband. Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom and is worthy of our love, our adoration and our joyful praise.
Designed to love
Rebecca was no more than her father's daughter. But when they took her to Isaac, she assumed a new identity: the identity of her fiancé. Now, our identity is in our Husband.
We have already forgotten our past identity, along with all its obligations. Our Husband is now our identity, and nothing of our past is already important. The Bride not only adopts the identity of the Husband, but also his name. From now on and forever, it will be known by that name.
This Pastor and Husband is worthy of our affection and deserves that we leave everything behind and accept it as our Lord.
PRAYER
Oh God, we bow to you with great humility and adopt your name and your nature. Everything in our past is joyfully forgotten, and our whole future is centered in you. We accept you as our Pastor and Husband and we thank you eternally that the Spirit of God, in his mercy, has sought and led us to you. We do not want anything other than you. Amen.
