Greetings and Blessings, Health to the whole family of steemchurcH.
Today I argue my reflection in the book of Luke 19: 1-10 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960), where we read the story of a man who lived a life of deception and betrayal like many people today who do not know God's purpose for his lifetime. This story focuses on an extraordinary encounter that Jesus had with a man named Zacchaeus.
The story begins like this:
19 When Jesus had entered Jericho, he was passing through the city.
2 And it came to pass that a man named Zacchaeus, who was the chief of the publicans, and rich,
3 tried to see who Jesus was; but he couldn't because of the crowd, because he was small in stature.
4 And running ahead, he went up to a sycamore tree to see him; because he had to go through there.
5 When Jesus came to that place, looking up, he saw him and said: Zacchaeus, hurry up, come down, because today it is necessary that I possess you in your house.
6 Then he came down quickly, and received him joyfully.
7 When they saw this, they all murmured, saying that he had come to pose with a sinful man.
8 Then Zacchaeus, standing up, said to the Lord: Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have disappointed anyone in anything, I return it in quadruplicate.
9 Jesus said to him: Today salvation has come to this house; because he is also the son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save what was losT.
As is known Jesus' purpose on this earth was based on the forgiveness of sins to captives and his purpose was to free man from slavery so that he would come to the knowledge of God and live a different life based on true freedom.
Jesus came to bring liberation, preservation, healing, prosperity so that humanity would turn from its bad path and experience true happiness.
For this reason, when Jesus confronted man with his purpose, he totally contradicted the expectations of the people, since it was logical that the teachers and the people of his time would wait for something else because there was a political time that had an extravagant influence on the actions of people. However, when Jesus intended to carry out his mission in man and his warning was able to touch the hearts of those who heard these people, they managed to experience an unexpected change touching everything that in a spiritual sense was necessary to transform.
And this was the case of a man called Zacchaeus who sought to find Jesus out of curiosity to know who the man was that people spoke so much to him and that he was doing miracles and wonders throughout the people of Israel. In that sense, the search for Zacchaeus to Jesus was not only a curiosity but a reality that changed his life forever.
Recall that the Bible teaches us that Zacchaeus was a chief of the publicans and rich, he was a tax collector who had enriched himself with deception and traps, but when this sinful man takes the initiative to seek the Lord his life took a turn. extraordinary 360 degrees.
He looked for a way to see it because of his height he had trouble getting to the place and climbed a large tree and the Bible tells us that when this man could look at Jesus he met his gaze. The look of Jesus posed with that of Zacchaeus, I imagine that look of Jesus sweet, docile, matchless, loving, a look that nobody can go unnoticed and that this man named Zacchaeus could not avoid or disobey.
Immediately Jesus looked at his heart and said: Zacchaeus, hurry down because it is necessary for me to possess in your house today. This shows us that Jesus not only cares about us but also cares about our families.
And the most extraordinary thing about this story is that immediately that Zacchaeus has the encounter with Jesus, he decides to change his life instantly, he recognized that he was a vile sinner and told the Lord in verse 8 the following: Then Zacchaeus, put in He said to the Lord: Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have disappointed anyone in anything, I return it in quadruplicate.
Dear Church, unquestionably no one who has Jesus in his heart can remain the same because an encounter with the Lord changes everything because he is peace, freedom, salvation. restoratioN.
