Scavengers are creatures who eat the leftovers from dead animal carcasses. When the grassland hunters have finished with their prey, the scavengers move in to pick the bones clean.
Vultures are large birds found in many grassland areas of the world. They use their keen eyesight to spot dead animals far below them.
Hyenas usually eat the remains of another animal's kill but they will hunt if food is scarce. Their 'chuckling ' hunting cry sound rather like human laugh.
Although vultures and hyenas have a bad reputation, they provide a useful garbage disposal service, because if carcasses are left to rot they attract flies and disease.
