15 monthes old and she goes to school.....
My daughter was just 15 months old, when I enrolled her to a mother-toddler program. I often come across the criticism “it’s a torture”. I just have one thing to ask to all those people. Is going to the school really a torture? In today’s time and the lifestyle we all have adopted, people have time to take their kids to the well equipped play area every weekend but do not really have the time to take them to a park & play with them. I still remember, when we were young, all our evenings were dedicated to the outdoor activities and here we are now, where the kids are only addicted to the gadgets. It’s not really their fault, it’s just that today, neither do we have sufficient parks for the kids to play nor do we have the time to take them out there. And in between all of this, what could be better than spending these few hours of our day with them at the school.
Being a work from home mom, I get to spend the entire day with my daughter but that really doesn’t seem enough. Most of the times, I’m stuck in the household chores or my office work. But spending those 2 hours with her at the school, I love to watch her learn, play and enjoy. Today’s schools are no more about the books or studies only, it’s so much more about the personality development of the child. It is so wonderful to see my daughter humming our “Gayatri Mantra” or our “National Anthem”. It makes me feel so proud. It’s not that I am in a rush to make her learn everything possible, it’s just how beautiful it is to see her understand her culture, her nationality and herself in such a beautiful manner. I know there would be people who would feel that I’m running away from the responsibilities of teaching or playing with my child. But I really just have one thing to say to my daughter ,
“I’ll always be at you back,
But will never hold your hand.
I’ll always tell you where you lack,
But alone you have to rise up from the sand.
I’ll make you capable of doing it all,
love you my angel...
