Imagine going to your graduation rehearsal and gunfire ensues inside the building. Unlike the resource officer at a Florida school in Broward county just three months prior, the resource officer at this Dixon, Illinois school on May 16, 2018 did not wait for a stand down order and didn't think twice about confronting the former student wielding the gun as a weapon. Rather this courageous resource officer took it upon himself to do the job he was tasked to do. Use his own weapon to defend a student body and himself against the attack of someone who chooses to put our children in harms way.
The shooter was identified as Matthew Milby, 19 of Dixon, Illinois. Milby had arrived at the school around 8 a.m. and opened fire on resource officer Mark Dallas, according to Danny Langloss, the city manager when he responded to WQAD-TV.
According to USA Today, "Authorities say the quick-action of a "heroic" school resource officer Wednesday thwarted a school shooting suspect. "
"He was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated discharge at a school employee and aggravated discharge at a school building.
USA Today among other sources reports, "Dallas, who has served as the school's resource officer for five years, confronted the armed man at the Dixon High School near the school gym, where seniors were gathering for a graduation rehearsal, after he had opened fire in the school.
The gunman, who was described by police as a former student at the school, ran out of the building after the school resource officer approached him, and the officer gave chase. (Superintendent Margo Empen told Sauk Valley Media the suspect was not expelled, did not drop out and was eligible to graduate with his class.)
During the chase, the suspect fired several rounds at Dallas. The officer then returned fire at the gunman, who suffered non-life threatening injuries, said Dixon Police Chief Steve Howell Jr.
The suspect is in custody and is receiving medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. No students or staff were injured in the incident.
“We’re lucky the officer was there. His brave actions saved a lot of lives,” said Langloss, whose daughter was in the gym.
"I could not be more proud of the police officer and the way he responded to the situation," Howell said. "With shots ringing out through the hallways of the school, he charged toward the suspect and confronted him head on. Because of his heroic action, countless lives were saved."
The officer was put on paid administrative leave per city policy after an officer-involved shooting.
The city, about 90 miles west of Chicago and best known as the hometown of former president Ronald Reagan, said all city schools were put on lockdown following the shooting."
On Fox News Gutfeld brought up some very good points. He states, "the media isn't interested in what doesn't happen." As that is also considered news.
Why is it that much of the media doesn't spend more time on praising heroes like this, but spends a great deal of time working on their own unfounded wishes of drummed up false allegations like Russian Collusion?
Gutfeld points out that it's "bad news that it isn't a big story for it's own sake." Do you suppose that is because it is against the Mainstream Medias narrative in which they themselves are constantly colluding with a group bent on Trump hate.
He says, "It's also bad news that it isn't a big story for it's own sake, because in this non-news story, truth is revealed. . .that one can save lives by actually Protecting People! For the duration of a gun attack is always dictated by the arrival of a Second Gun!
This incident is no exception. Look up the unpublished CDC report, that indicates nearly 2.5 million defensive uses of guns a year!
It's the way the press uses silence, selectively, to create only one story angle that carries the Seal of Media approval.

An update to why this teen may have been troubled appears to be connected to the bullying issue. CBS states,
"The mother of a 19-year-old accused of shooting inside his former high school says he was bullied and recently had been beaten so badly, his jaw was broken, reports CBS Chicago. Matthew Milby is facing three charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm, all class X felonies, for allegedly shooting inside Dixon High School on Wednesday."

What are your thoughts of the heroes not being heralded by the mainstream media? Why do they focus more heavily on the cases where they promote "would be heroes" to stand down as they did in Broward County? Please let me know in the comments below.
