After Audrey's disappearance, the residents eventually forgot about her existence. Even the posters that marked her disappearance were slowly fading, with no one adjusting them. One night, while Samuel and Lolite were coming home from another night of drinking, they felt an unusual sense. It was Sam who felt it first, knowing that his clairvoyance always took the better of him. Someone was watching them from a distance, but only to find there was no one as they turned around. Lolite felt the perturbing sense of being monitored next, but also knew there was no one around them. It was later at night, as they adjusted their cloaks. They knew they were breaking the curfew.
Samuel (sedated): probably just me overdrinking, we should better get going!
Lolite (laugh): of course, told you it was bad to drink so much!!
Samuel: well, you gotta drink to move up the spirits. Isn't that right, hun?
Lolite (laugh): keep it down, or else the moonrackers would hear us!!
A sharp knife was felt stabbing into his back, as he moaned out in agony. Lolite felt tears streaming down her back, as she checked her boyfriend. He crouched to the ground, while he looked at his girlfriend egregiously. His agony was aggravated when he saw Lolite grimacing, which he knew she was experiencing the same pain. Both of them felt a knife carving something on their back. They could sense their skin being divided apart, with large quantity of liquid pouring down. They knew it was none other than their blood. The torturous experience lasted for 20 minutes, before they went unconscious.
The next thing they knew, they were inside the hospital. Samuel could instantly recognize the St. Mary Magdalene hospital in their chamber. His girlfriend was laying next to him, who regained her consciousness. The two of them checked each other's backs, only find a large patch of tattoo on each person's back. There were a picture, in which they could see themselves in. Inside the pictures, they could barely recognize themselves. Their bodies had been mutilated, with their faces slightly distorted. They were begging for mercy, from a heggar.
Lolite (frightened): what is this?!!
Samuel (bemused): I thought an astral projector or apportationist was messing with us. We shouldn't worry about it........right?
Lolite (fluster): clearly, this is not some ordinary tattoo..........you see the patterns. I feel like this has to be some kind of warning.
Samuel (exasperated): nah, probably just some old pal from our chamber. Most likely the barbarians. They've been envious of us forever!
Lolite (tremble): I don't think so. There were no one around us, I checked. We need to get the others.
In the main realm, Eutopia and Marius were coming home from another night of movies. They instantly felt a sharp stab at the top back of their backs. He groaned first, while she checked what was happening to him. Before she could reach his shirt, she also felt the sharp stab. Before both of them could regain their consciousness, they felt a knife carving something onto their skin. The tormenting sensation lasted for over ten minutes, before both of them collapsed on the footpath. Marius could hear sirens wailing from the distance. Hands of the paramedics approaching them. A small pool of blood was seen behind his girlfriend.
The next thing Marius could recall, were a series of short visions. He regained his consciousness in a hospital, with Eutopia in the female's waiting room. He saw Jonathan and Naia laying on the other side of the room. They slowly regained their consciousness, while groaning in pain. Marius could sense the painful mark from yet unhealed. As they got him to check their backs, he noticed there were large patches of tattoos carved onto their skin. A ominious realization came to their mind, as they knew they had to check Eutopia. While she was whimpering in pain, they called Samuel and Lolite to come to the hospital with them. Marius got to know about Audrey's disappearance completely neglected.
Jonathan (frown): I think there's a reason why these things are targeting us. It has to do with them, they must've used something to make themselves invisible.
Samuel: well........Lolite and I did sense something was behind us. It went too quick to grasp onto. It was in front of us the next second.
Eutopia (fluster): this is beyond anything of Mazoon's teachings. I've checked many books last night, none of which had this.
Naia: maybe it's just some idiot playing a stupid prank on us............
Eutopia (exasperated): I don't think so!! If you took a closer look on the patterns that was tattood on you, you would realize it's not anything like that.
McKayla (confused): I'm the only one that doesn't have it. Apparently. Either way, I think we should tell Mazoon and report it to the others.
Marius (agitated): and tell them what?!! You think our mayor would believe us.....we already have five stricks. They won't give us another chance.
Lolite: guys, she's right! Let's go to Mazoon first.
