The U.S has authorized seismic permits to blast 200 decibel air guns into the marine environment as part of the search for oil and gas. Species like whales that use sound to communicate will be devastated and severely injured/traumatized, include the right whale that has a population of only 400 now in the Atlantic Ocean. These hellacious seismic blasts are so disruptive and unbelievably loud they even are detrimental to zooplankton.
