I was watching videos last night on YouTube as I am want to do when insomnia kicks in and I'm wide awake at 3am and I started "down the rabbit hole" of Laurence Krauss videos. Laurence Krauss is a theoretical physicist and cosmologist and is very outspoken in regards to the subject of atheism. One point resonated with me and it's the fact that we are all now atheists in regard to the gods of the past such as Poseidon, Thor, Apollo, etc. He goes on to say that it's estimated that there are somewhere in the neighborhood of a thousand such gods humans have worshiped over the course of our history and that almost all of us can agree, now, that we have an atheistic opinion in regards to 999 of them or so assuming that some of the audience are believers in the traditional God or Buddha, etc.
