Organic is better for you and for the earth. It's not without pesticides (organic methods just use natural ones), but I'll take those above the chemicals any day. And it's not just the pesticides; the nutrient balance in the food is better when it's fed broader fertilizers that include a range of different elements and micronutrients, not just the big three that they feed most conventional crops.
As for the cost, consider medical bills later in life, plus the fact that much conventional agriculture poisons the planet. You just need a longer term view of the costs and then organic doesn't seem so expensive.
