It was March 11, 2011 when everything was normal, the weather was fine and everebody was busy preparing ourselves for work. At 12pm our company chime was ringing as a sign of our lunchbreak.
At 1pm., our breaktime was done and we went back to work again.
As I sat down on my machine,I felt that the floor was slowly shaking. I ignored it because it's just usual thing in Japan .
But as time went, the shaking didn't stop. This time we were all frightened! It's no longer the usual thing. Until our management announces to calm down and made us all hide inside our machine because the earthquake became stronger.
So we hid here.
While hiding on my machine the earthquake gets stronger and stronger it seems that our building will colapse.
It stopped for a moment, and that was the time when we were instructed by the manager to go downstairs immidiately.
It was magnitude 9.1!
As I managed my self to go out from the company I heared shouting, screamming, crying and one of my friend even fainted.
That instant our manager instructed us to get inside the van for us to evacuate the area immidiately since the tsunami signal could he heard all over the area,... comming and it had already hit Sendai.
Because Sendai is just an hour away from our area, we evacuated immediately.
At the evacuation center
More stronger "after shocks" continued. No electricity, no phone signal, no internet. I just kept on praying while some of us were crying.
My prayer was "Lord not this time, I am yet ready to die. Please give me the chance to see my child personally - as my wife was pregnant the time I left. I am the bread winner of my family and the hope of my siblings that they may finished their study.
Days passed of being stocked in the evacuation center and the after shocks still continued. We don't know whats happening outside. As if there was no life outside. We heard nothing except the cracking sound of the buliding.
We are informed that we need to save our food and water. The store was already out of stock.
Our japanese manager visited us
On the third day our manager instructed us to prepare ourselves to go back in our place because there was already electricity and our place was not totally affected. Thanks God we were safe!
As I was riding on the van I personally capture this photos
The ship on the street
The town is dead.
On the fourthday we were so happy the phone signal was back and we are now able to contact our family in the Philppines. As I was talking to my family, my wife and my mother was crying. They thought that I was dead and even planned to do a vigil for me. Thanks God for his protection and I survived!
After a couple of months we visited Sendai
Sendai recovers so fast
They open a museum for kids with the Japanese famous cartoon character Anpanman who gave bread for those who were hungry then
Then everything was back to normal again that.
This is Japan ....and my tsunami story.
Thanks for your time....
Keep safe steemians!
