The first known computer was "Antikythera Mechanism". It is an Ancient Greek analogue computer that was discovered in 1901 in the shipwreck near the Greek island of Antikythera (tiny island between Crete and Peloponese). It could predict astronomical positions, eclipses, and also track four-year cycle of Olympic games.
It is dated back to around 2nd century BC and it was very sophisticated device that contained at least thirty bronze gears of different sizes. The technology was later lost in time for almost 1500 years until the development of first astronomical clocks in 14th century.
