Scientists from Seoul National University have developed a new type of transparent thouchpads, built out of soft materials, that are flexible and stretchy.
All transparent touchpads, up to date, have been designed using hard materials, so this approach is completely new.
These flexible touchpads are made out of soft materials such as polyacrylamide hydrogels, that have high transparency, enhanced conductivity, and don’t fatigue over time when stretched. This new technology is also more electronically stable than other alternatives.
The prototype is still being improved but if offers great potential for the next generation of touchapds, which can bring us to the next level of gaming.
The research has been recently published in journal Science.
