WHAT IS A SYSTEM?
The greatest explanation ever made to my fellow students in my class.
Hope you understand how system work, for question reply this message
ystems are created to solve problems. One can think of the systems approach
as an organized way of dealing with a problem. Every system exists as a set
of interrelated elements or a collection of elements or information that cause
certain input to act according to some rules to perform a task. The term
"system" originates from the Greek term "syst_ema", which means to” place
together.
A system can be anything that you put something into and get something different
out of. Gordon Davis views systems in terms of abstraction or physicality. Abstract
systems are conceptual. These are not physical entities. They may be formulas,
representation or model of a real system. An Abstract system is defined as an
orderly arrangement of independent items of constructs. Example includes the
geology system or the relationship between man and nature. Physical systems
tangible entities that we can feel and touch. A Physical system is defined as of
elements which operate together to accomplish a task. For instance transport,
school, accounting and computer systems etc. There can even be systems within
systems. For example a programme on your computer or a university where there
exists a faculty and department which come together to achieve a common goal of
running the university. Faculty and Departments are sub-systems of a university
system.
All systems process inputs from their environments. By definition, processes
change or transform inputs into outputs. Typical processes in systems include
verifying, updating, and printing. The objective of a system demands that some
output is produced as a result of processing the suitable inputs. Thus the simple
system mode is
input
