NGC 5256 is a pair of galaxies in its final stage of merging. It was previously observed by Hubble as part of a collection of 59 images of merging galaxies, released on Hubble's 18th anniversary on April 24, 2008.
A mob of shading and light moves through this unconventionally formed cosmic system, NGC 5256. Its smoke-like crest are flung out every which way and the brilliant center enlightens the disorderly areas of gas and tidy twirling through the world's middle. Its odd structure is because of the way this isn't one cosmic system, however two—during the time spent a galactic crash.
It's a big treat to be able to witness this cosmic event!
