Some of them predicted there would be a car race without a driver. Apparently, it is justified by Daniel Simon. Daniel Simon is a vehicle designer of films such as Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, or Captain America.
RoboCar Simon
This is one example of the concept of Simon. The name of this car is Robocar Simon. Has a length of 4.8 meters and width of 2 meters. Obviously, the car does not have a cockpit so it weighs only 1,000 kgs. To rotate the wheels, the Robocar has four electric motors, each developed with a 300 kW charge and packed up to 540 kW. With a combination of heart, it has a maximum speed of up to 322 km / h and torque of 1200 Nm. Very fast...!!!
This car has an autopilot feature and a pair of artificial intelligence platforms Nvidia Drive PX2. Both use 15 ultrasonic sensors, 6 cameras, 5 LIDAR, and 2 radar systems to determine the position of the car and decide which path to take as to whether to overtake or stop.
In the future, the car that will participate in Roborace must be standard as Simon's concoction of this car. For the race, not much different like in Formula E. Ten teams that will take part in each series will show two examples of the same vehicle and will compete in various city circuits within one hour of the race.
