Good day everyone
I am going to briefly explain to you how I made a local inverter. I know a lot of people think they can't do it since they are not in electronic field but, hey! It's very easy to do
I have a GOTV and an LCD TV with very low wattage. I also have a PC monitor with AV input and a 650va UPS, a 12v 40ah fullriver valve regulated battery and a smart charger.
I bought the 40ah battery for N6000 (about $17) which is equivalent to deep cycle batteries. I also bought my 20amp smart battery charger for N7000 (about $20)
I also bought the fairly used and perfectly working 650va bluegate UPS without battery at Alaba market for just N1500 (about $5))
The picture below is how you extend the black and red wire from the UPS to the battery outside the UPS.
With this, you can stay connected to your favorite programs on TV or watch movies on your LCD via external HDD.
If you already have an LCD TV, make sure you check the watts. If it's above 100, then you need to get an 15inch monitor that has AV input
The smart charger charges the battery while the ups stands as the power. Myy 15inch monitor is 34watts while the Blu ray player is 16watts.
When there's no electricity, my 40ah battery powers my 15inch LCD and Gotv or blu ray player for about 9hrs.
This was how I did the connection
I unscrewed the UPS and extended the black and red wire that goes to the battery to be longer (I use red and black colour wire in order to avoid confusion)
I then connected the extended red wire to the battery positive (red) and the black to the battery (negative). I also connected the charger's positive clip to the battery positive and the charger's negative clip to the battery negative.
After that, I pluged in my charger power cable to electricity power source then I plugged my LCD TV to the UP, and the rest is history
Note: Remember it's just a 40ah battery so I don't overload it else the battery won't last long. I can connect my DVD player or home theatre to it but I don't connect my woofer to it otherwise it will drain the battery fast.
I avoid overloading it unless I want to add more 12v 40ah battery to it.
