We are children of the nature. Nature repeats itself in various forms and scales. As consciousness was born out of the evolution of our being which is the part of nature. As a result we assume the nature through its own eyes, its consciousness to be exact. And thus we tend to compare things, draw similarities, imagine allegories. Because it is in our very "nature". It is about repetition, but it is not the whole story; otherwise we wouldn't grow as a species. We have this innovative instinct which was asleep in mother nature's womb and unfolding itself through generations, awakening every second. This along with the above mentioned symmetricity pushing us forward or the other way around or both.
