For a long time, I had this completely crazy desire to acquire an electric scooter, but the technology was not yet there with the features that I wanted or because it was too expensive for me to support it. So, I kept saving and checking the market until

Why this post?
First, because I had to share this super exciting moment of backing my first e-Scooter and secondly because I feel I can help with some additional comments that might answer eventual questions you may have, in case you are also interested in the product.
I have several other scooters (non-electric) and this reflects on some valuable self-added experience when discussing details.

Shipping and Taxes
As far as I understood, shipping will be available to anywhere in the world. The product is shipped from China. During the Kickstart, Taxes are already included in the final price. Shipping is an additional €70 to the available pledges (see bellow).
Pledges and Deadline
There are a couple pledges available at high discount price, but rapidly disapearing. So, if you are really keen on this one, I hope to have accelerated your decision (so you can still get access to one in discount price).

Considerations/Worries
Many users of scooters may be worried about the fact this scooter does not have a back suspention. And, yet to test this new wheels, I forsee a specific benefit of the hubless technology. If those wheels are in fact bearing-less wheels, then it means that your are mostly floating on the engine magnetism. This is awesome because there is absolutely no wear on mechanics. Even if the side of the wheels have some sort of bearings to support the arm structure and the alligment of the electrical engine rotation, those are rolling with minimal ammount of friction, potentially never wearing off.
The battery usage/carging is one of the most important focus of endurance when considering a good product. For things to last, you don't need just a good battery (LG ones here), but also the aditional inteligence to use/charge the battery. If that is not taken into account, you can potentially kill a battery 50% faster (in lifetime wise). For example, for lithium-ion batteries in specific, they don't like heat mostly or with their charge level very low or very high, for prolonged (weeks) periods of time. If the software enchnaces the "good behaviours" for batteries, then the product endurance increases likewise too. And that just builds a valuable reputation over time, for the users of that product.
Tire wearing and battery replacements is another subject of worry. Although here it will forcely depend on usage, it is fair to say that under normal usage most of the users will be enoughtly satisfied, until they feel very tempted to buy the next model. Battery might be the least of you worries... tires, depend. But if you are really an extreeme user, you will save (in other resources) enough to buy new ones. And parts will soon be available everwhere... so maintenance prices might actually be acessible. 🤞
Wishes and Fixes
As a backer, I will be trying my best on trying to get the BEST product. I will be enquiring and helping other backers with questions/answers if possible, and I will try to understand where everyone wants this to go, leaving my own pawn of wishes too. I might have some different preferences but mostly everyone has some common basic ones, like:
- Endurance
- Secure (Health and Safety wise)
- Anti-theft features
- Quality
- Real user experience
- Utilities/extras
And off-side of the current product I have some stuff of my own that I beleive it would be a "nice to have" at (some) minimal cost of for the product owner to manufacture (and consequently increase the product value):
- USB charing port to connect something usefull while riding
- Multicolor LEDs with programable settings (rainbow rond-robin, or fixed color)
- Replacebale batteries (usefull for when you go to places without power)
- Auto-locking mechanism (with configurable manual/auto proximity phone unlocking)
- LED/Sound Alarm System
- More colours and custom painted parts
Last request for AKTIVO!
I would also like to have a model for all-terrain (with wider hubless motors/tires, bigger batteries and better IPX rating) - Need to get this idea to AKTIVO as a new Scoot model!
