In 1996 a friend of mine went down to the beach for a walk, while he was down at the beach he found some shells and wanted them to take home. He had a lift to the beach, so he collected his shells and then got a lift home. once the people had dropped him off, he decided to wash the shells to use them in a mobile he wanted to make a mobile. On inspecting the shells he realized that there was a live Hermit crab between his shells, now the lift was gone and he was left with a few shells to use in his mobile, but now he had to take charge and try and feed the hermit crab as he would not see anyone for 2 weeks. Momps was a real spiritual man and really did not want the crab to die, so he just decided to try and feed it till he could take it back to the Indian Ocean. Somehow a voice told him to put a herb in a little plastic tub. The herb was called Bulbinella. A juicy, leafy plant that has lovely yellow flowers. He filled the lid of a jam jar with some normal water, put it into the Tupperware with the Bulbinella as well as a few blades of grass. Deciding that it was all he could think of he went around the Nursery doing some work and on returning an hour later, he realized that the Bulbinella had been nibbled by the little Hermit Crap. Wow; Momp's, felt so excited, because he was not sure if the little fellow would live, but I kid you not, that little Hermit crab was called Rambo" and stayed with Momp's in his caravan until a few days later some friends came around to see If Momps needed anything from the shops, but he said that all he wanted to do was take the crab back to the Ocean and to release him or her where he had been found.
I often think about the amazing fact that the crab stayed alive in Momp's caravan for more than a week and survived on Bulbinella and tap water.
I wonder what the Crab told his or her friends when he returned to the ocean?
