Lionfish are not aggressive, but the spontaneous reflex action makes this fish a perfect hunter. It usually hunts its prey in the daytime.
Even though its population is stable, lionfish causing major problems in the ecology such as decrease in a large number of its prey and problem to the food chain. So, countries using the best eradication strategy ‘eat it.' So the expanding population that may cause future damage can be controlled. Some countries are paying a high prize for the divers to catch and eradicate this lionfish. The Volitan lionfish ( Pterois volitan) can be used as a pet in your aquarium. But you’ll need to find a large aquarium to grow this fish.
You can buy this fish at the nearby local store. Even if you buy this fish don’t play with it frequently. As I already mentioned the spine strike is extremely painful. Proceed with caution when you mess with lionfish.
