14 people with 14 keys to the internet
So, I always wondered who holds the key(s) to the internet? Well, there are seven people who hold a physical key to a security box, and there are seven others whom possess seven back up keys. There is a smart card inside these different boxes that allow the 'device' to generate an internet master key, known as a root key-signing key (computer code), which then generates more keys that cascade down to different areas of the internet. I sourced this information from the following article inside the link below.
This is a security process that is carried out regularly (possibly every four months) to protect the internet from false web addresses being generated along with false IP adresses. The process is actually more of a security cladded ceremony, that takes place somewhere in Los Angeles, North America. There is an excellent article enclosed in the link below, where a reporter was given access to this ceremony and even better, the organisation that runs the event, streams it over the internet, which is amazing when I think about it. We use the internet daily and I never even knew about key holders before looking into it. It makes me think that Steemit's Witnesses are like key masters in a sense?

The organisation that controls the internet is called ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), and I have enclosed a link below leading you to their website, it's very interesting.
Well, it seems that I have found the key masters and I now know that they're spread across the world for risk reduction reasons, as there cannot be too many key masters in any one country, which makes sense.

Looking back at how quickly we have jumped technologically, makes me wonder what the keys of the future will look like, the ceremony, or even the key masters themselves. If you've ever seen the film The Lawnmower man (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104692/), then you might have an idea of how things could look in the future, with the security room being a virtual one instead of a physical room. We shall see what the future tells us.
Cryptic talk in a Crypto world.
As always, thanks for taking the time to read this post.
