Or someone else, like your insecure super smart spouse who may be able to catch exactly were you have been?
Or your health instructor who caught you on one too many cheat days through your visited location?
Welcome to back end surveillance!
Where big brother like iOS or Android continues to log your movements without you even knowing it.
For some of the Steemians here who already knew me for more than a year knew that I acquired an iPhone 6S some time ago.
I still use it once a while but ever since iOS 12 has been upgraded this phone has been really draining up and the screen has been lagging of response.
According to Machines support center KL rejected to repair it because it was not repaired by them before, hence the parts were not original
So now, I have my Hwawei with me while I kept my iPhone for other more personal use.
Still love the facetime because it's very clear and Skype seemed to work better there
But...
Though I thought I already switched off most of the location settings, apparently the phone still tracks my location.
By the way, if you are on airplane mode, and you have WiFi access, you are tracked by your phone
But there is a way to clear it and switch it off if you want to.
Step 1: Go to settings
Step 2:
Head over to privacy in settings.
- Step 3:
Head over to location services.
Note: You can opt to switch this off all together, but many other functions like maps will not work.
- Step 4:
Head over to System Services
Which means these softwares are actually running background without you realising.
Scroll down and look for this; significant locations. You will actually see your recorded locations all over.
- Step 6: (Your choice)
However I do not guarantee if your information is already saved in the cloud. That, I have not done further investigation.
After that you can opt to switch it off; but there are no guarantees that you are totally un-monitored. As long as you are connected, you are pretty much followed by the big brother.
What do you think? Would you opt this in and out?
I think there are 2 sides of a coin, and there are good and bad. These services were created for the sake of securing your phone and if anything happens to your device, you could trace it, block it, and not allow anyone else to use your phone, moreover access it.
But there are also bad people out there who will make use of such data for bad intentions. So it all boils down to morale and wisdom.
Which the world is sorely lacking further these days.
Do share your comments below and let's share our thoughts and concerns even.
Of course, let's not fight. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Only to see if it is beneficial for self and everyone or not.
Until Then
Keep calm and clear your cache (?)
