Two days ago late in the afternoon I finally came across the most unlikely encounter in my life and believe me, if not for my cowardice I think I was in for the ride. At first it felt wired and I curious about every bit of the seductive approach meeting my manly ego. I have always had encounters with people of different gender and in such occasions the ladies have always been at the center stage of my appeals and charms. This time though it was so different, it was a man-to-man seduction and I was the center of the appeal.
After a long day at work, I was walking down the streets headed to an ATM machine when our eyes locked with this Asian guy. From the first impression I realized he had nicely kempt medium long hair and clean cut beards. He stopped and continued staring but I was uneasy and so I assumed and went on to make a queue at a cash dispenser few steps away.
At the moment I had a lot in my mind and my primary objective was to take some cash and head home for an early evening rest. The ATM queue was a little bit long and I was going to be there for a while so started staring around when I once again caught eyes with the innocent face of this handsome Indian guy adorned in blue jeans, grey shirt and a white stripped black sweater. He had moved closer and on realizing that I was staring, he quickly buried his face to his phone pretending to dial, this somehow caught my attention.
The sequence of stolen glances continued for a while until I could no longer take it, so I decided to act. I left the stagnated queue and went straight to the guy. “Hallo, I am Sam” I said showing my hand for a shake. “Hi, I am Timothy” he said as he shook my hands while looking at me interestingly surprised. “I have noticed that we keep locking our eyes and it is confusing, could it be that we know each other” I added giving him a little smile aimed at encouraging him to open up.
“Hapana, sidhani kama tunajuana” He replied in an Asian accented Kiswahili and then went on with his phone pushing me into a greater dilemma. I was like wow, this guy is confusing and he had now put me in a situation I did not want to last for long. “Sawa basi nilidhani nimekuona mahali sababu unafanana na mtu mwingine, jioni njema lakini” I concluded to make my approach relevant. I decided to go back to my business and as I made my steps away I heard him mutter some words which were never clear to me, so I turned and gave him a smile like though I had heard and continued with my walk.
The line was still moving so slowly and I was held up there for some time before I could serve myself. However, before I could get the service, Timothy had once again come nearer and was now standing somewhere in the vicinity. Just like before, his stolen glances continued and browsed through his phone each time I caught up with him.
I was finally through with my ATM services and was headed in my direction when Timothy boldly waved his hands to me and asked me to talk. Due to his age seemingly in the early thirties in comparison to my mid-twenties, I decided to obey and take the move once again even though the first time was a disappointment. “uko na wakati?” he asked and checking on my schedule visa-vie the curiosity I had about this guy I told him “yeah, I can spare some little.” “Tunaweza pata mahali pakukaa tuongee?” he asked in attempts to solicit my thoughts of us finding a better place to talk I guessed away from the street noise.
He ushered me to follow him and so I did to the first floor of a nearby building where he knocked at locked office pretending to inquire if its occupants were still in. On realizing that the floor was empty, the truth had to come out and the first sentence Timothy uttered sent me into a frenzy of confusions that catapulted my mind to make several conclusions and judgments about this handsome and innocent looking guy.
“Mimi iko ona wewe na mimi iko penda wewe sana” he said in a very broken Kiswahili only common among the Indians. Did this guy just admit that he like me? So how and why does he like me? I know am humble, charming and likable, always smartly dressed and likes to gives the best impression to any and every one I get to meet. Is it possible that Timothy had seen me earlier before today doing something extraordinary or is it that he just likes me among the Africans he has so far met? The answer to all these rhetoric questions running through my mind and so I had to simplify by just getting back in memory lane during my encounters with ladies. The only time I have told a girl or a lady that I liked her and I was uneasy about it, is when I liked her as a boy or a man.
For a moment there was a deep silence between us and I was wondering whether I was in trouble because all this was so unexpected. I started imagining how disgusting it must feel like being kissed by a guy or just having sex with another guy and I almost puked, but no I dint because I really wanted to see how this conversation goes. So I played a long acting like I was flattered just like ladies do though it took all my pretenses and acting skill to pull this one off.
“Oooh!! sio mbaya” I said after few moments of silence in attempts to make that sentence go without any further focus. “Sasa unaishi wapi?” he asked. I told him where I resided and in a few sentences we discussed about the place where I stay. However I remember not asking him where he stays because I was so much in a hurry to see the next stage to this seductive menace and I was also aware that my pretense would not have lasted for very much long since I am a hater of pretense.
After a while of chatting about other issues, Timothy proposed that he should show me his shop which was within the town center about five minutes’ walk from the building we were. I tried to turn down the offer but he was so insistent and even referencing back my words where I agree to take some little time to hear him out. My curiosity was still in play and so I decide to take a leave with timothy to see his shop…
