Most of us who were kids or teenagers during the early-mid 90s, will remember that the two predominant video game options were those of SEGA and Nintendo. The Nintendo NES monopolized the market in America, with in Europe and Brazil it was the other way around with the SEGA Master System being the predominant system.
The 16-bit era, with the SEGA Genesis (Mega Drive) and the Super Nintendo was a different story though. The systems brought the first real console war known so far: Blast Processing vs Super Mario. Sonic vs FXChip!
Fact is that, both systems had amazing games. The SEGA machine was home to some almost arcade perfect ports, while the Super Nintendo was (and is even considered nowadays) the best system to play quality RPGs, plus the amazing super Mario and other Nintendo first party games.
Amazing times! Do you have any gaming memories from this era? Have you been a Nintendo or a SEGA fanboy? Were you jealous of friends of yours who owned your "hated" system, which you secretly wanted to own too?
What were some of your favorite games of that generation?
