Go cycling, dance in the sunlight, sing in the rain, check that place you have always wanted to visit, learn that thing you have been planning but kept putting on hold, keep the worries away, and do what must be done today.
Or not!
Well, Yongi and I did what we know best when the man of the house is away (he headed to the city early in the morning, and we opted to stay because we were not in the mood for a long drive).
Before midday, we opened all the windows to let the breeze in, turned the (chill) music on, secured the doors, went to the bedroom, and then slept.
What? You're kidding, right?
I wish. Just that we had a rough night, and I felt like a zombie that not even a glass of cold drink could wake my veins up, so why fight it? It's simple, the body says it needed rest, so we listened to it. Why would we complicate things?
And so, we (literally) seized the day our way. It's not a waste, though, as far as I'm concerned, therefore, no guilty feelings whatsoever. It was the best way for us (me) to recharge mentally and physically.
Drift away
Let your mind be free
Like the waves on the sea
Take it slow, feel the melody
Let it all just come to be,
Let the world slow down for a while
Close your eyes, just breathe and smile
Everything will be alright
These were some of the lyrics I can remember from what was playing before I drifted off to dreamland. I don't even know what the title was, but it was perfect for the moment. A lullaby from the universe?
Anyway, we were awakened by a phone call. "Were you sleeping?" My sister's voice. Time check, it was 4:21 pm. Whoa! We have slept that long. We skipped lunch, not even a snack. We must have been really burnt out from yesterday's affairs.
Well, just as the song says, everything is alright. It's truly okay to slow down, breathe, and let things be. And I'm grateful for the liberty to do that every so often, even when it may appear like we are spending our days lazily.
Maybe, that's how we seize our day... pleasurably.
