I'm a solo parent of a heart champ. She's Cassandra Dominique. She was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease - Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) when she was just 2 months old. It was really a hard road and it wasn't easy.
As a mother of a heart warrior, it is never easy for me to watch my daughter everyday knowing she is bearing that kind of illness. Everyday there is fear of what might happen. Everyday is a battle not just for Cassy but also for us around her. But we need to be strong for Cassy. My family and friends are my support system. They've been always there from the very beginning of this tough road. But through prayers and faith, God sent someone to help us for Cassy's operation. She just had her open-heart surgery last August 11, 2017. Now, she's a lot better and getting better.
To all the mothers out there who is experiencing the same thing as mine, just keep the Faith mommies and be strong for your child! 💪🏼💖
