So, keeping to the pirate rules, where there are no rules (inspired by ), today's black and white photo challenge is taking a photo of a photo in my parent's photo album. I've already posted about Bells Beach today as the Rip Curl Pro is on over Easter, so when I found this photo, I thought - hey! there's a connection here - somewhere!
Pictured is my Dad and my Uncle on the stairs with Bells breaking behind them. We used to spend hours on this beach waiting for Dad and his brothers to come in, until I was old enough to surf myself.
It does make me a little sad. Dad starts his chemo today and he always used to race me up those stairs. He's the fittest man at 70 - all those years of surfing and yoga and running up stairs trying to prove himself a younger man has paid off as he starts his treatment. The doctors said he has a fair chance due to the fact he's pretty fit, so here's hoping.
Here's the rules by , with a few addendums by me - feel free to add your own.
The alternative contest rules are (as posted by ) ....
Seven (or more) black and white images that represent an aspect of your life. {I reserve the right to add extra photos and interpret black and white from an artistic standpoint for the sake of creativity and a bit of fun}
Present images any day on seven days. {days may be non consecutive}
No people. {animals and other living objects are perfectly acceptable}
No explanation. {heh most of them won't need explanation} ... an addendum by me, .. I can definately explain it if I wanna!
Nominate someone every day, if you want to, but anyone can join the fun. {meh, this is all self nomination at this point cause everyone has done this at least once and it's getting old}
Use the tag - #sevendaybnwchallenge - as one of your five tags. {sure} - there are heaps of good tags you can use, feel free to do whatever you please!
