Well, I am just not getting my 7 days in a row, there is too much going on. The stray cow saga continues... Yesterday a couple of local ranchers got together to try to do something about it. No one knows who these cows belong to, or even who rented them the pasture that they broke out of. All week, these cows have been breaking into people yards, eating their hay, eating their pasture land. The old boys brought their cow dogs, if you big-screen this I THINK you can watch them work, that is why I took the video. Those cow dogs (Australian shepherds in this case) are amazing to watch.
This turned into an epic fuster cluck. As one gentleman calmly baled hay, a customer of his tried to bring a load of hay down the driveway just as the cows were head up it. I do not see the cows this morning, they must have finally gotten them rounded up but the guy in the white truck... Do not be him. If you see cows being herded toward you, STOP. Let the dogs get them past you. The cows broke off the drive, as the video shows. They busted out a corner of the pasture and took off back down the road. We watched for another half an hour, the cows were off and running in another person's yard. It is pretty messed up, these are working people with day jobs and they have to spend their evening doing this because of one incredibly irresponsible rancher out there.
So today, I am positively thrilled to have good neighbors with even better dogs!
