Hello everyone. Glad to have made it to this week's SMASH contest, hosted by . Round 280!! Wow. It feels like we just made 200 a few weeks ago. Time passes by so fast. Before we know it we will be doing Round 300 already. Check out this most enjoyable contest here and become a SMASher too. It's fun and you can do it anywhere anytime.
Talking of time passing by so quickly here is one way of slowing it down and get to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the place. Here in the northern part of Davao City, about 60 kilometers away, is another city, Tagum City. It is one of the more progressive cities in the island of Mindanao and it boasts of a 25 hectare park called Energy Park or EPark for short. The place is lined with trees and big open spaces where one can enjoy the day, relaxing or picnicking with loved ones. In fact the EPark was the site of the international Jamboree for Boys Scouts in, if I am not mistaken, 2016.
Anyway, walkways are all over the place with numerous pedicabs, also called "trisikads", available for rent for those who would like to tour the park leisurely. "Trisikad" is a type of transportation that uses foot pedals or simply sikad--or padyak, which is the Philippine word meaning to tramp or stamp one's feet. It is made by mounting a sidecar to a regular bicycle.
While touring the park last week, my daughter, always a SMASh enthusiast just like the father, noted some very cool shadows. She immediately took some photos and shared them with me. Here they are.
Here are a couple of photos of E Park which I borrowed from the Tagum City Tourism Office, just so you guys know what the park looks like.
