We left the house in BC around midday. We had to wait for the parade to finish to avoid the traffic. We stopped by the town center and walked around to find plants for the garden. Unfortunately, we didn't see any. The plant booths were probably in another location, but we didn't bother to ask because we were tired.
The hubby thought we'd buy some snacks first, so he went to check the food stalls and found milk tea from a shop called Rebirth. He was told there was a 20-minute waiting time. It sounded okay for him, so he paid, and then came back to where Yongi and I were standing by.
We waited. 20 minutes went by, and no milk tea. It must have been 45 minutes when his name was called, which means his order was ready. Whew! What a service that was! They seem to lack a system to fast-track their preparation.
Well, here is my Oreo-flavored milk tea (the hubby had the cookies 'n cream, not pictured). It looks okay!
Anyway, while I was buying Yongi a new toy, the hubby went to the Shawarma stall and bought us two. We decided to walk to the car park to enjoy them.
"Oh my, this Shawarma is a scam!" he exclaimed as he unwrapped the food. I was laughing as he passed mine. It was too small with slices of cucumber and a few tomatoes.
"This is a scam indeed," I grinned as I took a bite. "And geez, this is probably the worst one we ever had," I continued. Thank goodness we didn't eat them in the food stall, or we would have left a bad review right there, LOL!
"It definitely is!" The Farmboy agreed. "No more next time for this shop, he stated in a firm tone.
So we ate quickly and rested a bit before we drove away, crossing the town's border and coming home to DD.
By the way, the milk tea was at least okay. Refreshing and had a tinge of coffee in it, which is quite a twist.
And my little man was exhausted, even though I had been carrying him throughout our stroll, lol! I think he was overwhelmed by the crowd and the noise.
We will spend Sunday here in DD, maybe take a drive to the city in the next few days, and go home to BC afterwards. Until then, we shall try to have a relaxing weekend!
