Shillong is a hill station in the northeastern part of india and capital of meghalaya,which means "the Abode of Clouds"and is one of the smallest states in India.it is the headquaters of the East khasi hills district and is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet avobe see level.shillong is the 330th most populous city in india.
September to may are the best month to visit Shillong and other parts of Meghalaya as the weather is very pleasant and rains are relatively lesser.
Most beautiful place of shillong are-
Meghalaya's Mawlynnong,Umiam lake,Elephant falls,Mawsynram,Shillong peak,Lady hydary park,David scott trail,swwet falls,spread eagle falls,Meghalaya state museum,Motphran.
Recently I visited Shillong and must say this is so beautiful!You will be totally astonished once you visit the Gems of Nature located in this hidden paradise.it is advisable for you to carry a book you always wanted to read but didn't have the time to do so.don't worry you'll have plenty of time to finish the book as you travel through the clouds toward your destination.
