Hey, good evening everyone.
I'm sharing with you two pictures of a tanker ship.
I assume this is a crude oil carrier. A large one too. 339 metres long, 60 metres wide. With almost 20 metres draft(the depth of ship in the water). She was on her way to Japan.
Tanker ships carries "wet cargo", while container ships and others carries "dry cargo"
There are three types of tanker ships.
- Crude oil tankers, carrying crude unrefined petroleum oils.
- Chemical/product tankers, caryying various chemicals and oils.
- Gas tankers, including liquefied natural gas tankers(the big ship in one of my previous pictures) and liquefied petroleum gas tankers carrying various types of liquefied gasses.
I have never set foot on crude oil tankers. However I have been to both the second and third types of tankers. How bout you guys?
