i’ve become kinda transfixed by this transportation for the last twenty four hours.
i mean, sure the SIX wheels feels like a long term problem that you might have to swap out freaking tyres and be on the ball about upkeep of that, heck, you gotta carry two spare because, well “more” and yeah just additional logistics.
But then, if you have this kind of earth/life mover transport and home you’ll probably switch the way your billing of your life works anyway right, putting more into the upkeep, regular servicing, heck, i’d have to learn a majority of that myself just in case regardless if your in the middle on nowhere, no triple AAA if you ain’t got signal (although satellite data will help with this)
I think this would be perfect if the existing energy was ripped out and swapped out with some kinda electric torque beast, maybe but those “hub” motors after all you’ve got an additional set of wheels you can put to use and they work great in regen mode going down a hill a treat.

plus, you’ve got that solar space on the top, so you could maybe trickle them (a little, not enough) in a week or so i’m guessing in a pinch. So that’s something, plus i’m sure that would get around a lot of “red tape” at country borders regarding “fuel” if it’s was completely electric.
What totally wins me over about this transportation thou is the shipping container, the notion that for for a month of travelling on a ship for under a grand i could probably send this to another country, deal with the paper work and then start exploring around is kinda exciting and while i’ve seen vans in the high end of like quarter of a milly these truck/expedition vans really speak to me.
drive it into a container, load that bad boy up, fly to the country of origin, deal with any paperwork and border stuff you need to with the company that’s helping you ship it, stay in an airbnb for a little while (or fuck it and waste a month onboard travelling with it for a low cost and sparce connectivity) and when it arrives you are off to the races.
i’d be quite happy with this beauty in my life.
