To some of you reading this seeing the "woobies" probably brought a flood of memories!
To an infantryman or veteran a woobie is almost like a security blanket. It's official nomenclature is "liner, poncho" and it is a warm blanket sort of thing that is made to attach to the inside of a poncho for warmth. The issued version is one of the best pieces of gear the government gives our troops and many a G.I. have spent a cold night wrapped up in one off in far away places.
This post is not about the blanket version but rather, as the title implies, shoes...
Started by a few US military veterans (U.S. Army Special Forces vets I believe) woobies shoes are are in the same vein as the ever popular Chuck Taylors All-Stars they are flat soled and the upper is made of canvas.
I don't believe they're made in the USA, but they're comparably priced to Chucks and I'd rather support a veteran owned small business as opposed to just ordering another pair of Chucks off of Amazon.
I just got these in, but I'm anticipating them turning into my favorite shoes!
