retail has been very much on it's arse for the last few years due to the fact that they have had a diminshed football due to pandemic restrictions.
many shops and spaces have simply had to close down because they can no longer maintain a business with no customers.
those that did the pivot (or many pivots) have managed to stay alive on literally life support during this time and have switched up their business by often using tech companies and their mobile focused software to bring in additional customers and revenue.
of course that comes with costs involved and often times the small businesses fold due to not have the technological insights to adapt to the new world unfolding around us.
and then you get spaces like the photo in this post. custom designed sets for people to hire out while they are in the local area and inside the shopping center.
easy place to park, probably per set or per hour payments and you can come and record/take photos with your asset for your social channels -- i think it's a smart idea, especially if you are in a region (like new jersey) that has a bunch of startup businesses and local influencers.
popup spaces are nothing new of course but the idea of fusing set design, flower arrangement and a simple pricing structure might make this startup business fly if they can rotate that our regularly.
i see this a perfect place for instance for people doing dropshipping, just take all your products in with you, take photos in different angles and arragements and you have professional images ready to go for your website.
maybe for video interview sets without the upkeep or the initial costs of "dressing" the shot at home. I can totally see this being a "drop-in" on demand service that i would use.
you seen anything like this in your local shopping center?
