So here we have Andy questioned about going to a forbidden place, instead of making money, he was spending money, along with his friends he met for the weekend (which Andy's wife was not invited) was met with a resounding and classical anti-accusal "NO", only to find that he was caught lying. At this point, you can see Andy’s brain go into hyper mode, searching for any sort of explanation that might redeem his overt lie he just told his wife (to her face), not to mention the long-term lie he told his wife about the business trip.
