There hasn't been a viral challenge on Steemit for a while, at least it hasn't come my way .... did I miss them all? Oh, in that case, let's kick start a new one and see how far it can go. Let's roll!!!
I'm going to start a Show me your Fridge Challenge. Nearly everyone has one at home, unless perhaps if you live in a bedsit and have limited space, or you live in the Arctic Circle where it's always sub freezing. This challenge is very simple, tell us anything about your fridge. Here's a few ideas to start you off
- What does your fridge look like? What make and model is it? Single door, double door, left and right compartment, or top and bottom compartment? What colour is it, does it have any special pattern, or is it some sort of limited edition? Does it have any special features, auto ice water dispenser, smart fridge with internet connection (I'd love to see one in someone's home)? Or perhaps you have a massive industrial grade walk in fridge at home?
- Do you collect fridge magnets and is your fridge covered in them? Tell us a bit about them, and which magnet have any special meaning to you. Do you keep your shopping list on your fridge door? Do you use a bit of paper, a notepad or a white board for your shopping list? What else do you put on your fridge door? Bills, school notices, photos?
- What does the inside of your fridge looks like? Does your eggs have to stand on a particular end? Raw food on the lower shelf only, or does it not matter? What's the oldest date on all your jars and bottles? Perhaps you can use this oppotunity to clean out that leftover you bought back from the restaurant a few months ago. Yuck!!! Or maybe you only use your fridge to store wine, skin care products, or photography film. Anything else interesting you keep in your fridge?
- And how about your freezer? Do you hoard up on groceries when supermarkets do special offers? Or does it just have ice cream inside?
The rules are simple:
- make a post about your fridge
- the fridge must be in your own home, or your family's home
- don't do a product review unless you have already bought the fridge and its in your home. This is about YOUR fridge
- use the tag #showmeyourfridge
- invite three people to join in so more people can take part and have some fun
So without further ado, let me introduce you to the first #showmeyourfridge
My fridge at home comes with my rental apartment, I dont'have any specific details, other than it's a Bosch brand. It's much taller than me, which too be honest, isn't a difficult achievement. There's a top fridge comparment and a lower freezer compartment.
In recent years, I've been buying fridge magnets during my travels, that's the only thing I buy when I go on holiday and they cover my fridge quite nicely. Here are some of my favourite. I bought the one on the left when I went to Peru the other year, one of my three most memorable trips. Then going anti clockwise is from Jordan, the second of my most memorable trip. Next is my New Zealand trip 2 years ago, I like this magnet because its actually a little paper holder. The Guinness bottle was from the Dublin brewery some years ago, then Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam last year, and finally the chef is from Seoul last month.
In this photo, my favourite magnet is the one on the right. It's from Disneyland Hong Kong when it first opened in 2005. That's my one and only visit there. I prefer the one in Florida much better. You'll see some polaroid photos of me and some friends on the fridge as well.
These two red and black magnets are my favourite of them all. I bought them at the Alcatraz the last time I went to the States in 2012. These are prison regulations but are equally appicable to parents and childern.
The black one is Regulation #5
You are entitled to food, clothing, shelter and medical attention. ANYTHING ELSE YOU GET IS A PRIVILEGE
And the red one is Regulation #22
If you make GROUNDLESS COMPLAINTS for the purpose of creating dissatisfaction and or stirring up trouble.. you will be subject to DISCIPLINARY ACTION
They may not have been funny for the prisoners at Alcatraz, and I don't have any kids but I thought they were so funny!!
So this is just a quick and short #showmeyourfridge post to kick things off. I'm going to nominate quite a lot of people to get things going, hopefully you will join in. And if I didn't tag you, please do feel free to join in, don't be shy!!! Hope to see your post soon!
