So you found a new cyanescens spot. CONGRATULATIONS!
Follow this simple Guide to increase your mushroom output by x400!
My Robot Brain has a quantum amount of information on preserving Cyan. patches.
Step #1 is to survey the area for human contact.
Look for garbage, footprints, broken branches and hiking trails.
Patches with zero recent contact are ideal. Stay away from popular spots.
Step #2 is to determine how much undergrowth is in your patch.
Mushrooms will NOT grow around too much; grass, roots, blackberries etc.
If you decide to pull up undergrowth: AVOID EXCESS DIGGING.
For example: Cyanescens will NEVER grow in just grass. You need patches with wood chips or a dead Oak log.
A good rule of thumb is not to exceed %70 undergrowth. REMEMBER TO AVOID EXCESS DIGGING.
Step #3 is to work with the mushroom correctly.
DO NOT pick the first flush you find. I came up with a rhyme scheme:
"Always crush the first flush." Picking mushrooms early in the fall can diminish a patch.
When you pick the next flushes throughout the season {fall} "flick" or "tap" the mushroom caps before you pick them. This will cause spores to fly around and create bigger patches {and new ones nearbly; so look for those.}
Try your hardest to pick only big mature fruits. one trick is to pick every single sized mushroom on a certain day and come back when they are all big {usually around 4 days after flushing.} If you time things right the shrooms should mostly grow together and mature at the same time throughout the rest of the season. This is a common technique for growing any strain outdoors.

You are might get dug up by: Dogs, wild animals, crazy neighbors, punk kids Or all of the above.
You can simply fill any hole with any of the following ingredients {mixed or separate.}
VERMICULITE
WOOD HUMMUS
OAK OR ALDER WOOD CHIPS
