Ladies and Gentlemen of the Steemit community! Today I will bring to you a great piece of equipment to have when the Stuff Hits The Fan going about 400 mile per hour!
This fantastic item would be a still! Whether it be a good old fashioned copper still or a new fangled doo hicky! A still is a still!
I'm going to go ahead and let you in on why this device might be a crucial item to add to the prep list! I am working on getting one myself! And here are just some of the reasons why!
Reason 1
Medicinal purposes: As you all may know, stills are mainly seen as an item used to make alcoholic beverages! Well alcohol with a high enough content can be a backup antiseptic for sterilizing wounds! This can also be used to make essential oils that may serve as additional medicinal item for when all the pharmaceuticals are out!
Reason 2
Water: A still can be used to desalinate and purify drinking water! So if you live by the ocean, a swamp or any water source for that matter; say Hello to unlimited drinking water supply! This would be a valuable asset to any human being! This may even be a form of payment after the end! Who knows!!
Reason 3
Fuel: You can use a still to make ethanol fuel. This can be used to power vehicles and heat your home, and also a super Valuable asset for trade in the new wasteland that is earth (After SHTF of Course). Where can you go wrong here?
Reason 4
If you really want to live a lavish life in the apocalypse... A still can also be used to make marinade for meats! Hmmm.....Won't your neighbors be so jealous?!! Lol.
Reason 5
Recreation: Now I'm not going to say it's a good idea to get loaded during the apocalypse, but who is to say that it is a bad idea to have a drink to keep the edge off every once in awhile. Think of it as a slight morale booster to some! The comfort of knowing that you have a recreational product that most people may not have the luxury of enjoying at this point! The little things can be exactly what you may need to keep going!
Now these are just a couple reasons to have a still. Yet I am sure there are so many more! You can buy already made stills for a decent price, you can make you own, or you can buy build kits for them! So many possibilities to have one of these pieces of SHTF Treasure sitting in your prepping cache! I hope this was informative and a little entertaining too!
