Only the MobileCoin protocol is supported for the time being, but it is now possible to send cryptocurrency to friends.
Signal started to test a new function: A P2P-like paying method, which started in the beta version application.
The Signal Payments function only supports one protocol for the time being, the MobileCoin. So only the MobileCoin wallet and the MOB cryptocurrency can be used, which is by the way, not a coincidence. The MobileCoin have a close relationship with the co-founder and CEO of Signal (Moxie Marlinspike).

According to the official blog post, the data will remain in the hands of the users. Signal cannot access the money, the balance or the complete transaction history. And the money is transferable, if someone would like to change app or service provider.
The test is going currently only in the United Kingdom, and the developers are waiting for feedbacks from there.
Have you tried this function? What do you think about it?
