⛵ ⛵ ⛵ ⛵...(Tour of "High Island")...Continued...
[Last time...]
“True enough Matie!” Lupega replied casually, “So what will you do with the rest of your free night?”
“I’ve got a painting I’m working on, a white Lilly!" She said happily.
“And you?”
“Hmmm...I’ll be waxing the bottom of my surfboard. You never know when the surf will be up!”
“On Lake Michigan?!”
“Like I said…you never know!”
“Hahaha!” (See: @joshuaslane/silver-adventures-captain-joshua-slane-03no24-where-is-high-island )

[On the Silverton, main deck…]
The first rays of light broke over the easter waters of Great Lake Michigan in a splendor of violet rays that glistened across its surface as far as the eye could see. Suddenly the morning’s quiet was broken by the loud call-out from the crow’s nest…
“Yo-Ho! Vessel off our portside!” Able Seaman Fat-elvis yelled down.
Cockpit Officer Bitcoinman ran over to the main mast and looking up, cupped his hands together, “How far aff Mucker?!”
“Four miles Sairrr, maybe five!”
Bitcoinman whirled about and jogged down to the galley stairs where he yelled down to the lower deck, ”Vessel aff uir portside, fower ur fife miles oot! Must be La Serpent!”
News spread fast on the lower deck as Boy Cve3 ran down the main corridor to Commander Galligan’s cabin…
“Commander Sairrr! Commander!” He called out in an urgent voice as he knocked steadily on the cabin door.
In a moment the door swung open and the tall frame of Galligan filled the doorway, still buttoning his tunic, “What is it Loon?”
“La Serpent Sairrr! She’s lying four miles off our port bow!”
“Hmm, guid Laddie! Gang doon an’ git Commander Kerrislravenhill...”
“Aye Sairrr!”
As the boy ran off, Galligan made his way down to the great cabin to inform the captain of the news...
Calling through the door, “Keptin Sairrr, La Serpent has bin sighted!”
The door opened quickly and the captain stepped out, “How far mate?”
“Aboot fower miles Sairrr.”
“Guid. Hav a crew assembled an' prepaur tae launch a longboat. Ahh want 'er secured an' tied aff afair noon!”
“Aye Sairrr!” Galligan replied with a short salute.
Meanwhile the ship was buzzing with activity. Some sailors were already up on the main deck gazing south-east into the sunrise. As Galligan made his way towards the main galley stairs, Commander Kerrislravenhill met him half way…
“La Serpent is sighted?!” She said in surprise.
“Aye, fower miles aff…”
“I wasn’t expectin' ‘att afair tomorrow!”
“We had favorable northern winds lest night, we’re a guid half day aheid o’ schedule!” Galligan replied as he took long strides down the dim corridor, “Assemble a crew o’ fife in a longboat an' draw oot a tow-line, th' Keptin wants 'er secured by noon!”
“Aye Sairrr!”
As they parted ways at the stairwell, Kerrislravenhill quickly made her way towards the main bunk houses as she ran names though her mind deciding who to take. (Deciding...who to take…🤼)
