On September 18, 1891 (130 years ago) Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal Published his 2nd book titled, El Filibusterismo (The Reign of the Greed). It was the sequel of Noli Me Tangere, the book that awakened Philippine nationalism by exposing the abusive authority of the Spanish friars and government officials. But unlike Noli Me Tangere that was a love story, El Filibusterismo was a political novel. The story was darker. It shows the hopelessness of their current situation and the desire for reforms. The book emphasized that a revolution is inevitable and the possible consequences of it. The novel became the inspiration of our national heroes in particular Andres Bonifacio who founded the Katipunan a year later.
On July 2, 1892, after the Spanish's discovery of La Liga Filipina, Rizal was arrested and exiled to Dapitan.
That night Bonifacio founded Katipunan that later sparked the Philippine revolution against Spain.
So thankful to my ever supportive wife for all the considerations she gave for my hobby. Just recently, i received the good news that she already picked up the parcel that i ordered i though it will be gone forever since i got no news from the the seller whom i only knew online. Few days later, the seller contacted me that he was recovering from covid-19 and all the stuff for shipment was delayed. Finally, the long wait is over! another pretty cool stuff added to my growing collection. Although its only silver plated brass and not totally pure silver, still an awesome stuff to keep for its low mintage (500) and sooner it will harder to find one in the market.
Welcome home my beloved Hero!
