When I was in Nashville a couple years back for Blockparty put on by
, I was fortunate enough to check a big box on my to-do list by going to see a show at the Grand Ole Opry.
The Opry was founded in 1925 as the WSM Barn Dance, a weekly live music & variety radio show. Two years later the name was changed to Grand Ole Opry.
I figured I would just go on my own as I didn't know many of the Hivers at the party and I had to get tickets in advance.
I mentioned it to and he said he had never been and was interested, so I got a couple tickets and waited for the trip.
The Opry was awesome, everything I thought it would be an more, and it was a real pleasure to share that with a friend and fellow music lover.
Fast forward to this weekend, the 3rd annual #sgs Las Vegas Meetup. Without any direct discussion about it, a tradition of folks bringing a precious metal gift for all the other people. It's not required but, you know, stackers are a special bunch and I've found generosity is a trait held in high regard by the fine #stackers of #sgs :D
The gift I received from my Opry buddy was this FREAKING AWESOME Native American Mint, Treasures of the United States Tennessee silver round...
...complete with Tennessee pearl slivers!
Only 500 minted!!!
And here is the reverse, also FREAKING AWESOME!!!
The Native American Mint did one of these beauties for each of the 50 states.
Once again I'm so happy to be part of this wicked-cool Vegas #meetup.
I'd love to stay and chat but it's time to get ready for the Vegas Golden Knights game, which you'll likely be able to see and read about in 's post tomorrow ;)
