Alright, now that that is out of the way, there are some really cool facts about this planet.
It was the first planet found through a telescope. Though it seems Uranus had been observed on many previous occasions, and possibly as far back as 128 BC. On these previous observation it was usually mistaken for a star or comet though.
On March 13, 1781, Sir William Herschel observed Uranus from the garden of his house with a homemade 6.2-inch reflecting telescope and initially reported it as a comet. There is a long history on naming Uranus as consensus on the name was not reached until almost 70 years after the planet's discovery.
