While I have always been a bigger fan of liberty coins, I still like picking up more recent coins. Many I buy as junk silver by weight. On rare occasion you find something in the junk that doesn't belong. I found this nice Franklin half dollar in junk silver believe it or not. It's a great coin with plenty of luster left and relatively unworn, I would grade it about uncirculated.
1963 D Franklin Half Dollar:
Mint: Denver
Compostion: 90% silver
Mintage: 67,069,292
Weight: 12.5 grams
Diameter: 30.6 mm
Just goes to show sometimes you can get lucky with a bag of junk silver (although usually you don't.) Keep on stacking that silver and gold!
Coin collecting and buying silver and gold is a great hobby, but it's not for everyone. I'm not a financial advisor just a guy on the internet, and this isn't financial advice. Always do your own research!
Have a great Tuesday!
