Hello and welcome to How to Play the Sims. I am your host Simgirl and I will be guiding you through the Cottage Living challenge in the game Sims 4!
I was hoping to show a really cool park, but the Sims 4 Volpe Park in the Bramble Woods of Henford-on-Bagley was more primitive than I thought it would be.
Bramble Woods is the forest of Henford-on-Bagley and runs up the mountain. I choose a tiny farm at the very top of this mountain, and the Volpe Park is on the other side; across the river and through the woods.
Despite the low wow factor, this park is lovely, and there is an awesome place for a wedding...
You always have the option to build on an existing public lot. Before you pick your Sim to play in the neighborhood map, pick a public lot. Down in the right hand corner there will be an option to build.
The build menu will take you to the property and you can add anything you want. Volpe park would be a cool project if you like to design outside gardens, or buildings.
Along with the open space and selfie oppertunities, the park has a grill to cook, and lots of places to fish.
After the exciting day at the Volpe Park, My Sim needed to get back to her little farm and get to work. A notification came up saying my lama was unhappy and it was all my Sim's fault.
There is a new tab on the friends list that includes animals for this cottage living challenge. Each of the animals your Sim interacts with will have a relationship bar. Your interactions with each animal you know, will either increase or decrease your relationship with them.
If you want to finish the aspiration for the Country Care Taker, you will need to make friends with at least one of your animals. It takes just as long to build a relationship with an animal as it does another Sim, so this challenge will take some time.
I started by making treats for the llama, brought him out of the barn and cleaned him. Then I fed him a treat and used one of the socialize options.
Each animal will have socialize options you can use to talk to the animals. The animal will react either favorably, or unfavorably. You will have discover how each animal reacts to your socializing choice.
I tried to snuggle with a chicken my Sim didn't know and she got attacked. Then she had a scared of chickens buff for a while.
Some of the neighbors have began arriving to the farm unannounced, with the intention of talking my Sim into helping out around town. They say all my Sim has to do is go to town and pick the help option.
This is something I will need to do soon, or else these people will never go away.
I did find that my Sim will automatically "tend the garden" and instead of getting down and pulling weeds by hand, they will pull out the super vacuum and power weed without my assistance.
Like real life, in Cottage Living there's just too much stuff to worry about, and not enough time in the day to do everything.
As if my Sim doesn't have enough to deal with, she was mesmerized by a vampire that night...
I need to have my Sim plant some garlic.
If you have other expansions, like I have the vampire, and your Sim lives alone, you have a chance to be visited at night.
I also have aliens who will snag my Sims in the middle of the night. There's not much you can do about it. I did notice this usually happens when the Sim lives alone, but I like to play one Sim at a time.
As far as I know, my Sim didn't get bit by the vampire, but I will still be weary of her sleeping habits and sensitivity to sunlight.
That is where I saved the game, so today I will be playing more.
Of all the Sims expansions, I am really liking this one. I will venture to town and see what kind of "help" these people are going to need.
I will keep you informed!
Until then,
Happy Gaming
