About a month ago this lake is much highlighted by various media because of the disaster sinking a ship crossing named KM Sinar Bangun who ran aground in the middle of the lake when sailing from the island of Samosir to the mainland of Sumatra with hundreds of passengers and two-wheeled vehicles .. This shipwreck due to bad weather and high waves and also caused overload.
